HISTORY Established in 1989, the Fant Foundation was formed by Mr. & Mrs. Eugene R. Fant as a nonprofit corporation. Mr. and Mrs. Fant’s simple, yet altruistic, goal was to help people help themselves. As is evidenced by New Process Steel, Mr. Fant was very successful in his business endeavors. With a graciousness mirrored by their heirs, Mr. and Mrs. Fant created a legacy of philanthropy and community service. New Process Steel and its employees fund a substantial portion of the Fant Foundation’s charitable income each year. It is with great pride that the company and its employees honor the founders. MISSION New Process Steel and its employees join the Foundation in its dedication to making a difference in the communities in which we operate. Our mission is to distribute funds to individuals exhibiting financial need and to charitable organizations, principally for assistance in education, community services and medical research. WHAT’S NEW In pursuit of his passion for the nursing industry, The Eugene R. Fant Endowed Scholarship Fund is being established at The University of Texas at Austin in the School of Nursing. The Big Heart Scholarship Fund for McGregor Scholars has been established through the KIPP Academy. McGregor Scholars will be designated by the KIPP Academy and will receive financial assistance their junior and senior year of high school and for four years of college. CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS These are some of the organizations that the Fant Foundation and New Process Steel support.
