New Process Steel is one of the largest, most respected processors and distributors of carbon steel products in North America. We provide a wide variety of top quality steel products, committed to the highest industry standards.
To create galvanized steel, a thin layer of zinc is applied directly, coating both sides of the steel. Galvanized applications require a high degree of surface quality and formabiliy. At NPS, we can galvanize hot and cold rolled steel. Galvanized steel is used when rust resistance is required as it has heightened corrosion protection.
Galvanneal steel is coated with zinc on both sides using a continuous hot dip process. The zinc coating is post-annealed and is more resistant to scratching and manufacturing damage. Galvanneal sheet is specifically designed to be used in painted conditions. When painted with properly selected primers and paints, the combined paint/galvannealed coating offers unsurpassed resistance to peeling and/or blistering of the paint, compared with conventional galvanized sheet.
Galvalume is a 55% Al-Zn coated product that is ideally suited for most types of roofing and siding applications as well as unexposed automotive parts, appliances and miscellaneous applications like furniture, outdoor cabinetry, computer cases, gutters, pipe, etc.
Stainless Steel's corrosive resistant, low maintenence, and refined luster make it ideal for surface critical applications. Stainless Steel does not corode, stain, or rust like normal carbon based steel because it differs by the amount of chromium present. Stainless not only is appealing to the eye, it offers the same structual strengh as most steel. We here at NPS utilize stainless steel's characterists in the appliance and food service indusrty.
At one-third the weight of steel, Aluminum is still very malleable, machinable, and has excellent corrosion resistance and longevity. From the transportation and construction industry to the can in your hand, Aluminum is one of the most abundant elements in Earth's crust.
Painted steel is produced by a direct application of specialized paint on a coated or uncoated steel surface. The coil is cleaned, pre-treated, primed, and painted all in one continuous process.
For ultimate corrosion resistance, our painting is often done on metallic-coated steel including galvanized, galvannealed, galvalumed, cold rolled, and terne coated sheet.
Painted steel offer users a unique combination of advantages: Additonal Strength · Added Corrosion Resistance · Heightened Aesthetics · Increased Overall Longevity
Cold Rolled Steel provides consistent and reliable product quality. Items manufactured from cold rolled steel require simple bends as well as parts with intense, deep-drawn requirements. Cold rolled steel is used when quality and appearance are crucial. The name “cold rolled steel” comes from the fact that the steel is kept below its recrystallization temperature during processing.
In fact, this process produces steel with tighter tolerances, higher surface quality and increased strength. When cold rolled steel is annealed, it produces steel that has a higher flexibility than hot rolled steel.
Hot rolled steel provides strength and flexibility. Usually drawn parts or simple bends are made from hot rolled steel. It is popular because of its versatility which is why it is used in a wide range of applications where flexibility is vital.
