An area of commitment for these efforts is empowering education. In 2000, the Eugene R. Fant Endowment Fund was set up at the University of Texas at Austin in the School of Nursing to assist those who have a passion for helping and assisting others. Addtionally, in 2005 the Big Heart Scholarship fund for McGregor Scholars has been established through the KIPP Academy. McGregor Scholars will be designated by the KIPP Academy and will receive financial assistance their junior and senior year of high school and for four years of college.
